SALES ASSISTANT
Looking for a place to start your career in sales? This entry level position provides administrative and sales support to Account Executives by servicing accounts, assisting in sales presentation development, providing customer service follow-up, gathering market information, placing and coordinating ads, setting up new accounts and assisting on special sells. You値l use your strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers while effectively managing the placement of their marketing messages.
Successful candidates will have previous experience in sales and/or college-related curriculum, strong desire to succeed in a professional environment, effective organizational skills and computer aptitude.
ASSOCIATE ACCOUNT EXECUTIVES
Do you have previous sales experience? While learning the advertising industry you値l provide back-up coverage for assigned account territories selling Star Tribune products, servicing accounts, processing orders, ensuring contract compliance, handling adjustments, while educating and selling customers into new products.
If you have a strong customer service orientation, excellent presentation skills and work effectively with a diverse audience this position offers you a fast-paced environment and an excellent opportunity to strengthen your skills for advancement.
ACCOUNT EXECUTIVES (Levels I, II, III)
As an Account Executive you値l work to build client relationships with assigned accounts while prospecting for new business. As you manage a customer territory you work towards understanding your customer痴 business goals, products and services, and then plan, prepare and deliver the best solutions to your customers.
Successful candidates must be highly motivated, results oriented sales representatives with 1-2 years sales experience, preferably in a media environment; exceptional presentation, negotiation and problem solving skills. Demonstrated prospecting/cold-calling skills and the ability to negotiate and close sales are a must.
Advanced level Account Executives must have 3-5+ years sales experience, preferably in a media environment, with a proven track record of acquiring and growing revenue. Must be able to form strong relationships in assigned territories and effectively demonstrate strong negotiation, presentation and problem solving skills. Previous experience needed in the development and execution of marketing and tactical planning.
SALES CONSULTANTS: ONLINE-DIRECT MARKETING
Our Sales Consultants work closely with new and existing advertisers to determine and implement the most effective direct marketing; online or special niche marketing campaigns.
Successful candidates will have minimum of 4 or more years of sales experience in a media or agency environment with proven ability to form strong relationships that drive results. For Online sales, must have demonstrated understanding of Internet marketing and for Direct Marketing a working knowledge of direct marketing, solo/shared mail and knowledge of databases used in a marketing application. Previous project management and product development knowledge strongly preferred. Must have strong interpersonal/communications skills, presentation skills and excellent negotiation ability. Must have the ability to keep current with rapidly changing information and prioritize tasks while managing multiple demands.
SALES MANAGERS
As a key leader in our sales organization you値l be responsible for leading a team of talented sales professionals working together to meet strategic goals and objectives. You値l be instrumental in building relationships with key advertising and association decision-makers. You値l ensure the team is consistently meeting and exceeding sales and service objectives and train, coach and mentor your staff to optimize opportunities for staff development and performance.
Successful leaders will have min 4+ yrs sales or sales management experience, with strong preference in newspaper or media related industry. Degree or equivalent working experience in business, sales, communication, or a related field. Strong sales ability, creative and innovative planning and process management skills; excellent negotiation, problem solving and decision making skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and objectives, working within established time frames; strong leadership ability to effectively coach, mentor and train staff. Must be able to work effectively as a leader and member of the team.
